AUGUST 20th-25th Shema teaching at Tribe of Doris Summer Festival- Drumming and Dancing in the beautiful Somerset Countryside! www.tribeofdoris.co.uk
AUGUST 31st
Workshops in Oake Village Hall, Oake, Nr Taunton Somerset
2-3.30 pm DRUMMING AND PERCUSSION WITH CHAS WHITAKER
Suitable for all levels of drumming experience, this is a great opportunity to study with Chas (www.arabicdrum.co.uk) who will teach the basic rhythms and by the end of the workshop have you all playing together and sounding great! Also a good chance for dancers to learn more about the music which we dance to. Some drums and percussion provided, please bring your own if possible.
4-5.30 pm DANCING TO LIVE DRUMMING WITH SHEMA AND CHAS
Always a challenging skill, dancing and improvising with a live drummer is one of the hardest yet most satisfying and authentic ways of performing. Shema will guide you through the best way to work with a drummer, how to enter the stage, listen to the rhythms and respond naturally to what you hear, before learning how to finish a performance and exit the stage. Suitable for beginners up, but some basic moves would be an advantage.
Cost: 1 workshop £25 (paid in advance) £30 on the day
2 workshops £40 (paid in advance) £45 on the day
Bookings in Advance via shema@tangerina.org or 07779 295519
